The designs of the fire temple, the palace and the general layout have strongly influenced the development of Islamic architecture. A lake and a volcano are essential elements of Takht-e Soleyman.
Except for the remnants of urban life and the remains of humans, the remaining structures in this area include the Sassanid and Ilkhani gates, Azar Goshtasb fire temple, Anahita temple and the western porch known as Ivan Khosro.
