Tourist & Pilgrimage Visa Tourist visa applies to foreign nationals who wish to travel to Iran for sightseeing purposes or to visit their friends and family. Pilgrimage visa applies to foreign nationals who wish to visit the holy places in Iran. Attention: As of 30th May 2005, all New Zealand nationals holding a valid ordinary (not Diplomatic or Service) passport, and wishing to visit the country as a tourist, can apply for a “one week” Iranian tourist visa upon their arrival at the following airports: Tehran (Imam Khomeini (RH) and Mehrabad), Shiraz, Mash-had, Tabriz airports. Applicants are requested to refer to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Visa and Passport Units stationed at the airport arrival hall of the above mentioned airports upon their arrival. This service will not apply to the following categories: Diplomatic and service passport holders. Foreign journalists and reporters intending to undertake professional activities (any breach will result in deportation of the journalist or reporter). Those, whose application have been previously declined. Iranian expatriates who have maintained their Iranian citizenship. All tourist agencies wishing to enjoy this service to further facilitate the arrival of their guests need to coordinate 24 hours in advance with the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Visa and Passport Division. Documents Required: 1. Applicant’s original passport (valid for minimum next six months) 2. Application visa form duly completed and signed by the applicant (one copy) 3. One recent colored passport-size photograph 4. A pre-paid returning Courier envelope 5.
