The beautiful city of Lankaran is located on the coast of the Caspian Sea and is one of the largest southern cities of Azerbaijan and one of the major border cities between Iran and Azerbaijan. The people of the two countries commute and communicate with each other through the land border stations.

The existence of Caspian coast has given a special charm to the city. On one hand the blue sea and on the other hand the green forests offer a dream route to tourists. The region has a vast area of national parks, where a variety of fauna and flora are preserved.
Lankaran city is famous for its tangerine gardens and tea plantations.
The city's notable mosques include Kichik Bazar Mosque and Boyuk Bazar Mosque. You can enjoy other attractions including the ruins of Ballabur castle, as well.
It is also the home to several national folk performers.
