Each tribe of the province, in their conversation,give different names to their clothing, but the overall coverage is similar. A tribal ladywears a colorful floral and also loose dress called Kras. Alak is the vest worn on the dress and some ornaments are sewn into it. Nomadic women use a kind of scarf as a belt on their dress. They wear colorful ankle-length pants called Darpaand a kerchief named Shalmeh. In some tribes, women put a cap (Tas kola) on.A tribal man uses underpants (Darpa) made of white fabric and wears pants (Shale keil) on Darpas. A Man's shirt is called Krasand a jacket which is used in winter. A black handkerchief tied around their waist known as Pooshy. Kurdish people usually have their local clothes on. Clothing for men and women include robe, cap and shoes that vary in various ceremonies, celebrations, mournings, etc.. Men’s clothing is Faqyan, made of white cotton or silk. Kurds wear loose pants with tight legs which are known as Pantol. They wear a long-sleeved shirt and a shawl wrapped around their waist. Men will typically put white, gray, brown and black clothes on. Most Kurdish women clothes are of bright colors such as red, blue, green, etc. Mashtehis a piece of 2-metre black silk cloth that women have on their shoulder the time they go outdoors. Women's pants are the same as men’s. Kurdish women wear kelanje on their dress and also use a cap which is decorated with colorful spangles. Some women will also use a scarf or turban known as Kalekeh.

Geography
West Azerbaijan Province is in the northwest of the country, bordering with Turkey, Iraq and Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and the provinces of East Azerbaijan, Zanjan and Kurdistan. Lake Urmia is located in this province. The capital city and largest city of the province is Urmia.
The climate of the province is largely influenced by the rainy winds of the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean. Cold northern winds affect the province during winter and cause heavy snow. The highest temperature in the province reaches 34°C in July, and the lowest is -16 °C in January.
